The Jolly Tannery decided to intervene to optimize company energy consumption substantially with the addition of a 200Kwe cogeneration plant, the replacement of the lighting fixtures of the shed and offices, with the inclusion of a system of measures and control on the electrical systems and finally with the replacement of two production machines.
The objective was to improve the eco-efficiency of the plant, reducing primary energy consumption and emis- sions in the atmosphere. The project estimates a reduction of about 9% of energy consumption, through:
• diagnosis and continuous monitoring of energy flows with the development of good corporate practices;
• installation of high efficiency systems, systems and components capable of containing energy consumption in production processes, as well as the use of energy recovered from production cycles;
• installation of renewable energy production plants for self-consumption;
• industrial cogeneration.
