Italy confirms its global supremacy! The Italian tanning industry comes out positive from sector data, made known on the occasion of the 95th edition of Lineapelle.
The event, held on 25-26-27 September at Rho Fiera Milano, was attended by 1,306 international exhibitors. Over the three days, the autumn / winter 2019/2020 stylistic trends were presented, registering an attendance of over 20 thousand visitors, all professionals in the sector coming from more than 110 nations of the world.
Interviewed in video, the president of Confindustria Vincenzo Boccia, recalled the importance of the event by saying: "Lineapelle represents a mirror of the excellence of Italy in the world.The companies in the sector export more than 70% of their turnover and represent a image of Italy: a country that is too often convinced of criticism and has a perception of itself worse than the world has of ourselves ".
Italian leather remains largely the world's first in terms of production quality and turnover. Its total revenues represent 65% of the EU total, and 19% of the world total. Italian leather production continues to grow (+ 5% in the first half of 2018), driving the sector at a European level together with France, Spain and Germany.
Gianni Russo, president of UNIC, concludes highlighting the importance of: "innovation, quality and sustainability, as fundamental parameters with which to confirm our international leadership.Our is a sector that knew how to anticipate the challenges of Industry 4.0, to be always more competitive ".
